Small and medium-sized businesses are in luck as Apple breaks tradition with discounts of up to 10% on the latest 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro models.
Report from Bloomberg (opens in a new tab) notes tthe deals come just ahead of the unveiling of multiple Macbook Black Friday deals, in an effort to shift more stock in the final period of 2022.
Apple calls this rare offer “a unique Mac campaign.”
Special Mac Campaign
SMEs will be entitled to an 8% discount on bulk orders of 5 to 24 devices; companies ordering 25 or more MacBooks can count on a 10% discount. The deal covers any combination of 14-inch and 16-inch models and is set to end on December 24, 2022.
Small and medium-sized businesses will be eligible for a discount that appears to be more generous than the typical discount offered to business customers.
According to a Bloomberg report, “sales staff were recently informed of the deal and began contacting companies with which Apple has prior relationships to gauge interest. Small business representatives said they rarely receive calls from Apple to promote promotions. The company, which has not advertised such an offer for half a decade, declined to comment.
The unusual offer comes as Apple expects a sharp decline in Mac sales in the final quarter of the year.
During an earnings call in October, Apple’s CFO Luca Maestri revealed that Mac revenue would “significantly fall” compared to last year.
The lack of an updated Macbook Pro in 2022 is believed to be fueling, at least in part, the drive to offer companies discounted models – especially during such an important holiday season.
The only updates Apple made to its laptops this year were a new MacBook Air and a 13-inch MacBook Pro in June 2022, with the former significantly boosting hardware sales in the last quarter. However, it looks like MacBook Pro sales will still be lower than last year.
